Baseball Recap: Conant Comes Up Short

Conant lost against Bartlett back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Cougars fell 10-5 to the Hawks. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Arjun Patel and Alex Martinez stepped up to the plate in a big way. Patel scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Martinez went 2-for-4 with one home run. Conant is 5-1 when Patel posts two or more runs, but 2-3-1 otherwise. Max Tutt also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Conant's loss dropped their record down to 7-4-1. As for Bartlett, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-8-1 record this season.

Conant will take on Palatine at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. The Pirates will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bartlett, they will challenge Aurora East at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Hawks are facing the Tomcats at the right time seeing as the Tomcats are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
