Basketball Recap: Highland Park Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Highland Park saw some tournament action on Saturday. They secured a 49-43 W over the Jefferson J-Hawks. Given the Giants' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 184th, while the J-Hawks are ranked 515th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jefferson lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Abbie Bracius, who posted 14 points. Alanna Morehead was another key player, putting up 15 points.
