Basketball Game Preview: McLean Tigers vs. Nazareth Swifts

The McLean Tigers will face off against the Nazareth Swifts on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with McLean sitting on three straight wins and Nazareth on eight.

McLean is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top against Fort Elliott by a score of 69-56.

McLean relied on the efforts of Collin Alston, who went 7-for-17 en route to 20 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists, and Andrew Montoya, who went 6-for-15 to rack up 23 points along with five boards and three steals. Alston's evening made it 15 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Jayvon Salazar was another key player, putting up eight points and 14 boards.

McLean smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Nazareth humbled Pringle-Morse with a 78-31 victory.

McLean's record now sits at 22-6. As for Nazareth, their record now sits at 12-9.

McLean came up short against Nazareth in their previous meeting back in March of 2019, falling 51-39. Can McLean avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
