Basketball Recap: Chesterton Academy of the Holy Family's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Chesterton Academy of the Holy Family waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They blew past the Aurora Christian Eagles 42-18. Chesterton Academy of the Holy Family has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 24 points or more this season.

Leading Chesterton Academy of the Holy Family to victory were Maya Krutul and Elizabeth Beto. Krutul dropped a triple-double on 15 points, 13 boards, and ten steals, while Beto posted 13 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Krutul is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last 13 games she's played dating back to last season.

Chesterton Academy of the Holy Family's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.0 points per game. As for Aurora Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

After both having extra time off, Chesterton Academy of the Holy Family and Islamic Foundation will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 5:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
