DuPont Manual took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Eastern, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Crimsons narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Eagles 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Crimsons: when they faced off against the Eagles on April 4th, they had to take a 6-0 defeat.

DuPont Manual's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Preston Jolly, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

DuPont Manual hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eastern struck out nine times.

DuPont Manual's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-13. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Eastern, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-9 record this season.

DuPont Manual will venture away from home to face off against Portland Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eastern, they will host Christian Academy-Louisville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Centurions have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
