Basketball Recap: Lawrence-Nelson Snags Sixth Victory in Last Seven Games

Kenesaw came into Friday's contest looking for another win against Lawrence-Nelson, but Wyatt Frey wouldn't allow it. The Lawrence-Nelson Raiders came out on top against the Kenesaw Blue Devils by a score of 59-52 on Friday thanks in part to Frey, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Lawrence-Nelson's points.

Another player making a difference was Caden Culbertson, who posted 13 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played.

Several Blue Devils players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jravin Suck, who put up eight points and eight boards. Maddox Wagoner was another key player, going 6 for 14 on his way to 14 points and six rebounds.

Lawrence-Nelson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.9 points per game. As for Kenesaw, they moved to 9-4 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Lawrence-Nelson has already played their next game, a 42-32 victory against Axtell on the 18th. As for Kenesaw, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 42-38 defeat against Elm Creek on the 18th.
