Basketball Recap: Cabrillo Comes Up Short

After flying high against Compton last Friday, Cabrillo came back down to earth. The Cabrillo Jaguars were just a bucket shy of victory on Wednesday and fell 63-62 to the Jordan Panthers. The Jaguars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 66-50.

Several Jaguars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lincoln Dean, who went 6 of 11 en route to 20 points and five assists. Another player making a difference was Aden Jones, who went 7 for 14 on his way to 18 points and seven rebounds.

The loss snapped Cabrillo's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 14-10 record. As for Jordan, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-12.

Cabrillo will head out to challenge Millikan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Cabrillo's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games. As for Jordan, they will challenge Long Beach Poly at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Long Beach Poly will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Jordan surely won't give up without a fight.
