Basketball Recap: Phoenix Day School for the Deaf Takes a Loss

After a string of five wins, Phoenix Day School for the Deaf's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 67-29 loss at the hands of the Sequoia Pathway Academy Pumas. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Roadrunners this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 49-46 back in January.

Despite the loss, Phoenix Day School for the Deaf still got an impressive performance from Franchesco Yesuf, who posted 21 points. The dominant performance gave Yesuf a new career-high in points.

Even though they lost, Phoenix Day School for the Deaf smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.4 offensive boards per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 9.1.

Phoenix Day School for the Deaf's defeat dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Sequoia Pathway Academy, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-12.

As of now, neither Phoenix Day School for the Deaf nor Sequoia Pathway Academy have any future games scheduled.
