Basketball Recap: Golden Valley Comes Up Short

Golden Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by the Reedley Pirates 73-40.

Despite the loss, Golden Valley still got an impressive performance from Elijah Smith, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds. Smith is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Hogg, who posted nine points.

Golden Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Reedley, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.

Golden Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 55-52 loss against Orosi on the 13th. As for Reedley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 56-51 win against Kennedy on the 13th.
