Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 54-51 win over Somerset Sky Pointe on Wednesday. With that victory, Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas brought their scoring average up to 51 points per game.
Clinton Ezugha was the offensive standout of the match as he scored 25 points along with 9 rebounds. Jayden Aranas was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 4 steals.
Despite the loss, Somerset Sky Pointe still got an impressive performance from Cory Gory, who scored 24 points along with 3 steals. Gory scored a full 47.1% of Somerset Sky Pointe's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Dylan Oblad, who scored 8 points along with 3 steals.
The victory got Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas back to even at 1-1. As for Somerset Sky Pointe, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas will head out on the road to face off against Doral Academy Red Rock at 5:30 p.m. on December 8th. As for Somerset Sky Pointe, they will face off against Shadow Ridge at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
