Football Game Preview: Gore Pirates vs. Mounds Golden Eagles

For the first time this season, Gore will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will welcome the Mounds Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mounds took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Gore, who comes in off a win.

Gore took a loss when they played away from home on September 5th, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed two weeks ago. They blew past Chouteau-Mazie 42-6. The Pirates' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Mounds was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. The game between the Golden Eagles and Okemah didn't end well, with the Golden Eagles falling 22-7.

Mounds' defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Gore, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Gore didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Mounds when the teams last played back in September of 2024, but they still walked away with a 22-18 victory.
