Canton South is 8-2 against Minerva since December of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Canton South Wildcats face off against the Minerva Lions at 7:00 p.m. Minerva took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Canton South, who comes in off a win.

Canton South will head into Saturday's matchup hoping to keep the good times rolling: they had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 35-point drubbing they dealt Fairless on Saturday. Canton South breezed by Fairless to the tune of 67-32.

Meanwhile, Minerva was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a hard 55-40 fall against Alliance. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 397th, while the Aviators are ranked 137th).

Canton South is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Minerva, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.

Canton South strolled past Minerva when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a score of 67-50. Will Canton South repeat their success, or does Minerva have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
