Monument Valley snaps six-game streak of losses at home

Recap: Monument Valley Mustangs vs. Alchesay Falcons

Even though the Alchesay Falcons scored an imposing 56 points on Monday, the Monument Valley Mustangs still came out on top. Monument Valley strolled past Alchesay with points to spare, taking the game 71-56. That's another feather in the cap for Monument Valley, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Loss or not, Alchesay got some senior leadership from Chauncey Newhall and Brent Aday. Newhall scored 22 points along with three steals, while Aday. scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Aday has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Frankie Lee, who scored six points.

Monument Valley's win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-11. As for Alchesay, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.

Monument Valley's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Window Rock at 6:00 p.m. on January 20th. As for Alchesay, they will head out on the road to square off against Chinle at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
