Football Game Preview: Oxford Hornets vs. East Vikings

The Oxford Hornets will square off against the East Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Oxford's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last three games.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Oxford and Unionville have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Friday. The Hornets took a hard 49-33 fall against the Longhorns. The loss was the Hornets' first of the season.

Meanwhile, East played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 51-26 to Downingtown East. The Vikings have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Oxford will have to keep a close watch on Chase Golden and Logan Cummings, a pair of players who had a big impact on East's prior game. Golden picked up 256 receiving yards and a pair of scores, while Cummings threw for 370 yards and three TDs. Golden's longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards.

East's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Oxford, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Oxford beat East 21-14 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Vikings' Fenton Kulp, who rushed for 106 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries.
