Preview: Tomball Memorial Wildcats vs. Klein Cain Hurricanes

The Tomball Memorial Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Klein Cain Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Tomball Memorial's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight matches.

Even though Waller scored an imposing 57 points on Tuesday, Tomball Memorial still came out on top. Tomball Memorial took their match against Waller 64-57. Given Tomball Memorial's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 151st, while Waller is ranked 944th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Klein Cain entered their tilt with Tomball with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Klein Cain came out on top against Tomball by a score of 60-49 on Tuesday.

John Clark was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last 14 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Nick Delgado, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.

Tomball Memorial pushed their record up to 23-9 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Klein Cain, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 16-12 record this season.

Tomball Memorial was able to grind out a solid victory over Klein Cain in their previous meeting back in January, winning 62-55. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tomball Memorial since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
