Stone Memorial extended their winning streak to eight on Friday, bumping them up to 23-3. They came out on top against the Cumberland County Jets by a score of 61-51. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 68-49 back in January.

As for Cumberland County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-13 record this season. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 77th, while Stone Memorial is ranked first).

Several Jets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Olivia Futrell, who went 5-for-12 on her way to 13 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Wilhite, who shot 42% from the field to rack up 20 points along with five boards and three steals.

Stone Memorial didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-54 win against York Institute on the 14th. As for Cumberland County, they have also already played their next matchup, a 78-45 victory against Clarkrange on the 16th.
