Baseball Recap: Penasco Comes Up Short

The home team had come away the winner the last seven times Penasco and Mesa Vista had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Panthers fell 10-6 to the Trojans on Tuesday. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Trojans earlier this season, when they won 15-3.

Elias Noll made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Xavier Noll was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and one run.

Penasco's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Mesa Vista, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-9.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Penasco will face off against rival McCurdy at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Mesa Vista is set to take on their familiar foe Questa at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
