Recap: West Johnston Wildcats vs. South Johnston Trojans

The West Johnston Wildcats pushed their score all the way to 57 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 66-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Johnston. West Johnston was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as South Johnston apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kameron Taylor, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Taylor has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Caden Horay was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.

West Johnston's loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-10. As for South Johnston, their win bumped their record up to 5-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Johnston will take on Fike at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. South Johnston won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Southern Wayne at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th.
