Baseball Recap: Hudson's Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over

Hudson dropped their record down to 18-6 on Friday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They came up short against the GlenOak Golden Eagles, falling 10-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Explorers have suffered since April 19th.

As for GlenOak, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games.

For GlenOak's part, they got a great performance from Bryson Peffer as he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Peffer has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Quincy Mazeke was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Moff, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs.

Hudson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for GlenOak, they will host Lorain at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Titans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.52 runs per game on average), something the Golden Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
