Coalfield has gone a perfect 3-0 against Midway recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets will welcome the Green Wave at 5:00 p.m. Coalfield knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Midway likes a good challenge.
Coalfield's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over Webb. The Yellow Jackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.
Olivia Laymance made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in March.

In other batting news, Madison Jackson was incredible, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-4. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Ashton Chamblee was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.
Coalfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Midway was not the first on the board on Monday, but they got there more often. They came out on top against Loudon by a score of 9-6.
Like Coalfield, Midway also got a great game from a two-way player: Kiersten Ruffner. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Ruffner was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. That run marked the first that she scored this season.
In other batting news, Chloe Jarnigan and Kyker Johnston did most of the damage at the plate: Jarnigan scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Johnston went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double. That double was Johnston's first of the season.
Coalfield's victory bumped their record up to 13-2-1. As for Midway, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-11.
Midway's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Coalfield has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Midway, though, as they've been averaging 11.2 hits. Given Coalfield's sizable advantage in that area, the Green Wave will need to find a way to close that gap.
Coalfield took their victory against Midway in their previous meeting back in May of 2018 by a conclusive 10-1 score. Will the Yellow Jackets repeat their success, or do the Green Wave have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
