Volleyball Game Preview: Lebo Wolves vs. Hillsboro Trojans

The Lebo Wolves will venture away from home to face off against the Hillsboro Trojans on Thursday.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Lebo and Marais des Cygnes Valley meet (two straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Saturday. The Wolves took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans. The loss continues a trend for the Wolves in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost three in a row.

Lebo was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Hillsboro was able to grind out a solid win over Rock Creek on Saturday, taking the game 2-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

While Hillsboro won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-22.

Lebo's defeat dropped their record down to 9-21-5. As for Hillsboro, their victory bumped their record up to 26-9.

Lebo came out on top in a nail-biter against Hillsboro when the teams last played back in October of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
