Football Recap: Augusta E Falls Short Against Ranked Georgia School for Innovation & Classics

Augusta E faced Georgia School for Innovation & Classics in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Eagles took a 24-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Patriots. The Eagles lost against the Patriots in their previous head to head back in November of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 50-12 score last time.

Despite the defeat, Augusta E saw an underclassman step up: freshman Walter Fullbright threw for 273 yards and three TDs on only 18 passes. A healthy portion of Fullbright's aerial production (132 yards to be exact) went to Luke Reese.

Even if they lost, Augusta E's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.

M'Isaiah Thompson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Georgia School for Innovation & Classics, rushing for 153 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. Thompson also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing one fumble and making 12 total tackles (0.5 for loss).

Augusta E's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Georgia School for Innovation & Classics, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Augusta E will welcome Community Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Georgia School for Innovation & Classics, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Providence Athletic Club at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
