Baseball Recap: Eastside Triumphs

Eastside took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Wildwood, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Rams sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over the Wildcats on Thursday.

The team relied heavily on Rodney McClellon, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Ohm Patel was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Eastside's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Wildwood, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastside will host Saint Francis Catholic Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolves have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Wildwood, they will welcome Altamonte Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
