Football Recap: North Marion Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for North Marion's offense. They had to suffer through a 54-0 loss at the hands of the Belleview Rattlers. The Colts have struggled against the Rattlers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meetings.

Belleview had a senior duo take command as Jakyra Bostick picked up 85 receiving yards and two touchdowns and Hannah Mason threw for 86 yards and two touchdowns. Bostick was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 51 yards.

North Marion's defeat dropped their record down to 1-2. As for Belleview, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

North Marion will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on St. John Lutheran at 6:00 p.m. on March 12th. As for Belleview, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 7-6 win against Tampa Catholic on the 28th.
