It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Jay County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top against the New Castle Trojans by a score of 64-54. The Patriots' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Several Trojans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alana Orr, who posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlee Lanzer, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.

The victory (which was Jay County's third in a row) raised their record to 6-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for New Castle, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Jay County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 65-36 win against South Adams on the 21st. As for New Castle, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-27 defeat against Northeastern on the 21st.
