Recap: Buckeye Local Panthers vs. Oak Glen Golden Bears
The Buckeye Local Panthers waltzed into their matchup on Monday with three straight wins but they left with four. They took down Oak Glen 46-28. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Buckeye Local also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2016.
Buckeye Local had a senior duo take command as Brynn McKeever dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds and Pamela Kandrach dropped a double-double on 15 points and 16 rebounds. Kandrach is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down 12 or more in the last 18 games she's played.
Despite the loss, Oak Glen still got an impressive performance from Kami Ward, who scored 21 points along with three steals and three blocks. Ward is crushing the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season.
Buckeye Local's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-7. As for Oak Glen, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.
Buckeye Local will take on the Redskins at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday. Indian Creek presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Panthers in Ohio (the Redskins are ranked 118th, while the Panthers are ranked 300th). As for Oak Glen, they will be playing at home against the Potters at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
