Volleyball Recap: Start Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Start, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They came out on top against Northwest Ohio Classical Academy by a score of 3-1 on Friday. This was a revenge game for Start: when they faced off against Northwest Ohio Classical Academy back in March, they had to take a 3-2 loss.

Start had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-17, 25-16, 25-19.

Among those leading the charge was John Czyzewski, who had nine digs and two aces. Those two aces gave him a new career-high.

Czyzewski wasn't the only good server: Start was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 37 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Start is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season. As for Northwest Ohio Classical Academy, they dropped their record down to 1-1 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Start will square off against Anthony Wayne at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northwest Ohio Classical Academy, they will challenge Springfield at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Devils will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight.
