Football Recap: Dudley Falls Short of Ashbrook in the Playoffs + How To Watch

Dudley and Ashbrook squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Dudley had to settle for second. They fell 15-7 to the Greenwave. While the Panthers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Greenwave 7-2 in the first quarter.

Despite the loss, Dudley still got an impressive performance from Robert McCollum, who rushed for 112 yards and one TD on only five carries. McCollum didn't just play on offense: he also picked up a sack and made 13 total tackles (4.0 for loss).

Even if they lost, Dudley's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Devin Cotton was especially locked on to Ashbrook's QB and sacked him twice. Cotton is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season.

Leading Ashbrook to victory were Aj McClain and Martino Smith. McClain rushed for 103 yards on only 13 carries, while Smith rushed for 116 yards and one score. Those 103 rushing yards gave McClain a new career-high.

Dudley's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Ashbrook, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.

Dudley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ashbrook, they will square off against Northern Guilford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Greenwave will need to watch out since the Nighthawks have now posted at least 31 points in their last five contests.
