Softball Recap: Make It Six in a Row for Foundation Christian Academy

Foundation Christian Academy lost to Northside Christian back in March, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Panthers blew past the Mustangs 16-5. Considering the Panthers have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Makayla Howard and McKay Barron did most of the damage at the plate: Howard went 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Barron went 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most RBI Howard has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sophie Cline, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Foundation Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 10.6.

The victory (which was Foundation Christian Academy's sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Northside Christian, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-5.

Foundation Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 14-12 defeat against Bradenton Christian on the 17th. As for Northside Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 14-10 victory against Cambridge Christian on the 17th.
