Basketball Game Preview: Homewood Patriots vs. Jacksonville Golden Eagles

The Homewood Patriots will be taking part in a tournament against the Jacksonville Golden Eagles at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Homewood is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Austin just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Saturday. They lost to the Black Bears on the road by a 61-47 margin. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Black Bears are ranked fourth).

Meanwhile, Jacksonville came up short against Northgate on Saturday and fell 71-63. The Golden Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jacksonville's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Homewood, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.
