Basketball Game Preview: Blanco Panthers vs. Harper Longhorns

The Blanco Panthers will venture away from home to challenge the Harper Longhorns at 1:15 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are still undefeated after three games, but that won't be the case come Monday.

On Saturday, Blanco strolled past Junction with points to spare, taking the game 52-37.

Blanco relied on the efforts of Ashton Uballe, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds, and Kinley Boyd, who almost dropped a double-double with 22 points and nine boards. Those 22 points gave Boyd a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Payton Craft, who posted six points and 13 boards.

Blanco smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 17 offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Harper against Medina on Saturday as the squad secured a 60-14 win.

Blanco's record is now 3-0. As for Harper, their record now sits at an identical 3-0.

Blanco came up short against Harper in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, falling 31-22. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
