Baseball Recap: Newington Takes a Loss

Newington fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Southington on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Blue Knights by a score of 6-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-1 back in April.

Newington now has a losing record of 5-6-1. As for Southington, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newington will venture away from home to face off against Enfield at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Southington, they will head out to take on Hall at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Titans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Blue Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
