Preview: Troy Warriors vs. Sonora Raiders

Two dominant backs in Declan Kai healey and Anthony Abad are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Troy Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Sonora Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Troy sitting on four straight victories and Sonora on five.

Last Friday, Troy didn't have too much trouble with Buena Park at home as they won 21-7.

Kai healey was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Kai healey was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 66 yards. Troy also got a significant boost from Caleb Huss, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 99 yards.

Meanwhile, even though Fullerton scored an imposing 36 points on Friday, Sonora still came out on top. Sonora walked away with a 43-36 victory over Fullerton.

Abad continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 221 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Martin, who threw for 157 yards and two touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes.

Their wins bumped Troy to 5-3 and Sonora to 7-1.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's matchup: Troy has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 208 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Sonora struggles in that department as they've been even better at 220.8 per game. It's looking like Friday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches.

Everything came up roses for Troy against Sonora in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 35-7 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Troy since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
