Baseball Recap: Humble Gets the Win

Humble's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 10-7 win over the Westfield Mustangs. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wildcats considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Humble let Anthony Garcia and Demoy Carr run wild. Garcia scored a run while going 3-for-3, while Carr scored a run and stole Four bases. while going 3-for-4. Carr is becoming a predictor of Humble's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 3-8-1 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan LaCour, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Humble was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Humble's victory bumped their record up to 5-9-1. As for Westfield, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Humble Wildcats challenge Spring Lions at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Westfield, they will face off against King at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
