Volleyball Recap: Highland Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Ava Summers and Sarah Liller

Highland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Richwood Lumberjacks. The Rams were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lumberjacks earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Highland sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 18-25, 27-25, 21-25, 15-12.

Despite the defeat, Highland had strong showings from Sarah Liller, who had 11 digs and 11 aces, and Ava Summers, who had 13 aces and three digs.

Highland's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Richwood, their record now sits at 3-9.

Highland has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Eastern Montgomery on the 21st. Richwood has also already played their next match (against Midland Trail), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
