Softball Recap: Beaumont School Blue Streaks vs. Elyria Catholic Panthers

Beaumont School extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 5-8 in the process. They lost 21-1 to the Elyria Catholic Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-0 back in April.

As for Elyria Catholic, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 18-0. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 10.8 runs this season.

For Elyria Catholic's part, Kailey Tomasch was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Tomasch has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and two RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Elyria Catholic got a massive performance out of Hannah Brooks, who fired off two home runs, four runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-5. That's the most home runs Brooks has posted since back in April. Mary Strippy was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and one stolen base.
