            Softball Recap: Whitehall Zephyrs vs. Emmaus Hornets        
        
		
        
        
            Whitehall dropped their record down to 12-4 on Thursday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins on the road. They took  a  4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Emmaus Hornets. The  match marked the Zephyrs' lowest-scoring  contest so far this season.
  Bella Muth made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 1-for-3 with one  home run. The team also got some help courtesy of  Josie Shultz, who  got on base  in all four of her plate appearances.
As for Emmaus, their win was  their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 16-3. Those  home  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.
On Emmaus' side,  Mari Eiswerth spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up ten Ks. Eiswerth has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  Avery DeFanti was  excellent,  going 1-for-3 with one  home run.
 We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Whitehall will  square off against  rival Allentown Central Catholic  at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday. Meanwhile, Emmaus is set to  challenge  their familiar foe Parkland  at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average (the Hornets 2.4, the Trojans 4.1) so any  runs scored will be well earned.
