Softball Recap: Hilmar Comes Up Short

Hilmar fell victim to Hughson and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Huskies. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Huskies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-1 back in March.

Hilmar's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Hughson, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-3.

Looking ahead, Hilmar will be playing at home against Orestimba at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season. As for Hughson, they will host Sonora at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13 runs per game on average), something the Huskies will no doubt try to take advantage of.
