Softball Game Recap: East Troy Trojans vs. Whitewater Whippets

East Troy had lost four straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 2-12 to make it five. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 13-3 to the Whitewater Whippets, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Whippets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-3 on Tuesday.

As for Whitewater, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by seven runs or more this season.

For Whitewater's part, Sydney Schilt made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Schilt has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Falyn Krahn and Paige Kollwelter did most of the damage at the plate: Krahn went 3-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double, while Kollwelter went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most hits Kollwelter has posted since back in April. Jordyn Weeden also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Troy will welcome Edgerton at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans are facing the Crimson Tide at the right time seeing as the Crimson Tide are stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Whitewater, they will face off against Turner at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something the Whippets surely won't give up without a fight.
