Soccer Game Preview: McFarland vs. Coalinga

The McFarland Cougars will take on the Coalinga Horned Toads in a tournament on Friday. McFarland is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

McFarland's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They came out on top against Hoover by a score of 2-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but McFarland were the better team in the second half.

Jason Vega and Cristian Avalos scored both of McFarland's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Coalinga). They blew past Hanford West 7-1 on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Coalinga's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for McFarland, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 5-0-3.
