Statesboro had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.9 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Tuesday. They really took it to the South Effingham Mustangs for the full four quarters, racking up an 86-49 win. Given the Blue Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while the Mustangs are ranked 419th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Statesboro got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Devin Mikell out in front who went 5 for 12 on his way to 14 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ja'Caiden Cone, who went 6 of 14 en route to 14 points and three steals.

Statesboro was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Effingham only racked up five assists.

Hayden Lloyd and Landyn White certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Lloyd posted four points, while White put up five points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lawton Bowen, who had four points.

Statesboro's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.5 points per game. As for South Effingham, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Statesboro will take on Effingham County at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for South Effingham, they will challenge Glynn Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
