Volleyball Recap: Mt. Vernon Comes Up Short

Mt. Vernon lost against North Posey back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wildcats lost 3-0 to the Vikings. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-7, 25-12.

Despite the loss, Mt. Vernon still got an impressive performance from Hannah McNeece, who had 25 digs and one assist. McNeece is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last eight games she's played.

Leading North Posey to victory were Mallory Luigs and Addie Murphy. Luigs had 19 digs, while Murphy had seven digs.

Mt. Vernon's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for North Posey, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Mt. Vernon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against South Spencer on the 13th. As for North Posey, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against Evansville North on the 10th.
