Baseball Recap: Caro Takes a Loss

Caro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Almont Raiders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-2 on Monday.

Wyatt Waterman was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Caro: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 13-14-1 otherwise.

Caro's loss dropped their record down to 16-15-1. As for Almont, their win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-7.

Looking ahead, Caro will challenge Bad Axe at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers are facing the Hatchets at the right time seeing as the Hatchets are stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Almont, they will head out to face off against Croswell-Lexington at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
