Baseball Recap: Stevenson Extends Home Winning Streak to Eight

Stevenson had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. Everything went their way against the Greenfield Bruins as they made off with a 13-3 win. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by seven runs or more this season.

Flint Dickson spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits.

On the hitting side, Stevenson got a massive performance out of Phinn Thomas, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most hits Thomas has posted since back in March of 2024. Reggie Bell was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

Stevenson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .484. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Stevenson's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-7. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Greenfield, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-8 record this season.

Stevenson will have a chance to go back-to-back against Greenfield: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
