Basketball Recap: Lab University Prep Regional's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Lab University Prep Regional had won three straight games and Jalyn Connor did his part to make it four on Monday. The Lab University Prep Regional Kings rang in the new year with a 70-62 victory over the Word of God Christian Academy Holy Rams thanks in part to Connor, who went 9 of 16 on his way to 26 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Lab University Prep Regional's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of James Wood, who posted 18 points. The contest was his 16th in a row with at least ten points.

Word of God Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josef Brown, who put up 11 points. Another player making a difference was Zach Cullen, who had nine points and seven rebounds.

Lab University Prep Regional is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Word of God Christian Academy, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-5.

Lab University Prep Regional wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 77-73 win against Oak Ridge Military Academy on the 7th. As for Word of God Christian Academy, they will face off against Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on January 13th.
