Basketball Recap: Corinth Holders Takes a Loss

Corinth Holders was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They were beaten by the Garner Trojans 76-47. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 506th, while the Trojans are ranked 16th).

Several Pirates players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jalen Chandler, who went 6-for-15 en route to 19 points and six rebounds. Those six boards gave Chandler a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Meeks, who posted 11 points.

Corinth Holders' defeat dropped their record down to 2-22. As for Garner, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season.

As of now, neither Corinth Holders nor Garner have any future games scheduled.
