Softball Game Preview: Meadowbrook Academy Mustangs vs. City of Life Christian Academy Warriors

The Meadowbrook Academy Mustangs will face off against the City of Life Christian Academy Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meadowbrook Academy has given up an average of 14.7 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It looked like the Kentucky Derby when Meadowbrook Academy duked it out with North Marion on Tuesday. The Mustangs came up short against the Colts, falling 22-4.

Meanwhile, City of Life Christian Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 9-4 to Master's Academy.

Jenna Johnson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and four unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, City of Life Christian Academy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Natalia Duran, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Meadowbrook Academy now has a losing record of 4-5. As for City of Life Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.

Meadowbrook Academy beat City of Life Christian Academy 24-20 in their previous matchup back in March of 2015. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
