Basketball Recap: Make It Six in a Row for Wenonah

Wenonah won against Sipsey Valley last Tuesday with 74 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. The Wenonah Dragons blew past the Jackson-Olin Mustangs 74-54. Given the Dragons' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 116th, while the Mustangs are ranked 344th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win (which was Wenonah's sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-6. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points per game. As for Jackson-Olin, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14.

When Wenonah and Jackson-Olin next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Wenonah will try to stop KIPP Atlanta Collegiate's three-game winning streak when the meet at 11:30 a.m. on December 27th. Similarly, Jackson-Olin will face off against Carver Birmingham and their five-game winning streak at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
