Devin Littlefield posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Tuesday. He struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk), good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

Looking ahead, Littlefield and Newark will take on Geneva at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Reds got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Panthers thanks in part to Littlefield: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
