Basketball Recap: Raleigh Charter Takes a Loss

Raleigh Charter lost against Falls Lake back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Raleigh Charter Phoenix took a blow against the Falls Lake Firebirds, falling 55-23. While losing is never fun, the Phoenix can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 547th, while the Firebirds are ranked 265th).

Falls Lake was led to victory by Jeneen Mason and Khloe Massengill. Mason posted nine points along with eight assists and four blocks, while Massengill went 8 for 15 en route to 16 points. Madisyn Shedd was another key player, putting up six points.

Raleigh Charter is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7. As for Falls Lake, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6.

Raleigh Charter will head out to square off against Wake Prep Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Falls Lake, they will face off against Research Triangle at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Falls Lake is facing Research Triangle at the right time seeing as Research Triangle is stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
